\"\"<\/a>The University of Derby is pleased to announce a joint symposium event organised by the Creative Technologies Research Group (CTRG) and Digital and Material Arts Research Centre (D:MARC). \u00a0Digital Hybridity + Sounds In Space will involve a full programme of research presentations and\u00a0practical demonstrations relating to the sound and visual arts, the combination of these events\u00a0providing a rich opportunity for exploration of academic, technical and creative practice research\u00a0in the aesthetics, procedure, technology, perception, and pedagogy of technology-based\u00a0sound, music, and intermedia art.<\/p>\n

Sound In Space:<\/strong> Exploring visual and sound arts practice, the symposium will present a number of original spatial\u00a0sound works including \u00a0a multichannel \u201ccollaborative sound canvas\u201d comprising sound\u00a0events developed, captured, processed,composed, and assembled by students and staff of\u00a0the Faculty of Arts, Design & Technology. Introducing leading edge research in surround\u00a0sound technology, education and application, the aesthetics and implications of a shifting paradigm in\u00a0sound creativity through technology will be explored in an intensive, immersive and playful\u00a0way.<\/p>\n
